May 2007-08. Chalk the Walk - Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Every first weekend of May a two-day festival takes place uptown and presents the work of more than 200 artists utilizing the city street as a canvas and more than a half-ton of chalk.

Kasparek participated two years in a row and took home the People's Choice Award both years for his efforts.

Year one was a terrific challenge as it introduced Kasparek to a new medium and way to work. Year two, Kasparek nearly bit off more then he could chew when he decided to do a larger 12X12 foot design.
