May 2007-08. Chalk the Walk - Mount Vernon, Iowa. September 2010. Chalk Art Festival St. Louis, Missouri. Every first weekend of May a two-day festival takes place uptown and presents the work of more than 200 artists utilizing the city street as a canvas and more than a half-ton of chalk. I participated two years in a row and took home the People's Choice Award both years for his efforts. Year one was a terrific challenge as it introduced me to a new medium and way to work. Year two, I nearly bit off more then I could chew when I decided to do a larger 12X12 foot design. In 2010 I participated in the 13th annual Chalk Art Festival in the St. Louis neighborhood of Benton Park. I tackled a 8X5 foot image that won the, humbling, Best of Show award.
